Braving the Cold at Brown County State Park
Our "One Year, One State, One Tribe" series kicked off with an incredible show of resilience at Brown County State Park for the Frost Warriors Walk. Despite the freezing temperatures, Mother Nature provided a beautiful backdrop for a day of connection and outdoor adventure.
We were honored to have 13 participants join us, including eight veterans. A special highlight of the day was welcoming two brand-new veterans into our tribe for the first time. The event was made possible through the support of our dedicated community, including Fred Lucas from Scarlet Fire Bushcraft and our Resilience Coach, Jason Brinson. We also owe a huge thank you to David Bliven for managing the logistics and "holding down the fort" while the team was on the trail.
Community Impact Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised $215 in donations and were able to provide an Indiana State Park Pass to a veteran to encourage continued access to nature. We are also grateful to Pepsi of Seymour, IN, for their commitment to donating drinks for all 12 of our state park events this year.
Join Us Next Time The journey continues! Our next event, Heart of a Warrior, will take place on February 21st at Fort Harrison State Park. We encourage veterans to bring their families or a friend to help build the comfort and connection that our community is all about.
